FAQ

Committed to finding the best solutions to your challenges, and the best approaches to new opportunities.

Ummm...what do those National Service terms/acronyms mean?

  1. AmeriCorps State is a national service program implemented through state commissions. Nonprofit organizations who successfully apply for funding must utilize those members as direct service providers (think tutors, social services, etc.)

  2. VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a national service program, providing members for nonprofits who need to build capacity (think grantwriting, volunteer recruitment, etc.)

  3. NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is a national service program that sends teams to project sites around the country. Nonprofits can apply to host and utilize these teams for short term projects, for direct service, capacity building, or a combination of both.

OK...but how do I know that AVZ and Associates, LLC is the right consulting agency for us?

We are committed, but not limited, to working with small to mid-sized nonprofits. It's especially critical that organizations with few (or no!) staff maximize their capacity with additional resources such as highly engaged volunteers and boards. The first step in deciding if we are a good fit for you, is contacting us for a no-cost, one hour consultation meeting. We'd love to meet you, and most importantly, listen to what you need!

Soooo...what do you charge for your services?

Because our solutions are customized for your organization, there is no 'one size fits all' price. We will draft a contract that specifies your need, and our deliverables and timeframes. A free, initial one hour consultation is available to any nonprofit (including those in a start up phase, and faith groups) to determine if our services are a good fit for your organization.

But...I'm not a nonprofit, could your services help me or my company?

YES! We are happy to consult with corporate clients on internship programs, and employee volunteer/board engagement. And we are happy to advise individuals on making the most of their internship, or connecting them with nonprofit opportunities. Contact us for more information!
